Windows XP Connection Setup

Before you begin, make sure you have the local dialup number for your area, and your Quicksilver Username and Password.

Click on START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > COMMUNICATIONS > NEW CONNECTION WIZARD

(or START > CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK CONNECTIONS and choose "SETUP A NEW CONNECTION")

Click on NEXT.
Select CONNECT TO THE INTERNET, and click NEXT.

Select SET UP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY and click NEXT

Select CONNECT USING A DIALUP MODEM and click NEXT

Type QUICKSILVER into the ISP Name and click NEXT.

Enter your local dialup number and click NEXT. (click here for a list of local dialup numbers).

Enter your Quicksilver Username and Password.
Type your Password again to confirm it.
Usernames and Passwords are usually in lower case letters.

Click NEXT.

Tick the box "Add a Shortcut to My Desktop" and click FINISH.

Congratulations! Your Quicksilver dialup connection is now setup, and you can access it using the shortcut to Quicksilver on your desktop.
